Imperial
Measure Length - Inch - 3" and 9" ruler
Check Diameter - Inch - 1/4" to 1"
Check Pitch - Inch thread pitch on side of gauge
Metric
Measure Length - Metric - 75mm and 230mm ruler
Check Diameter - Metric - 4mm to 20mm
Check Pitch - Metric thread pitch on side of gauge
