Oil Pumps & Idler Gears - MGB V8

The SD1 oil pump is adequate for road based cars, only requiring output to be increased slightly by using the uprated oil pressure relief valve spring (TT1829). The spring gives a running pressure of 40psi if an oil cooler is also installed. There is an enlarged oil pump conversion kit for use on early engines. Please note that if an MGB is being converted to V8 spec, the correct style of pump housing will be needed to enable a filter adaptor remote from the engine to be used (there is no space for the oil filter at the front of the engine in an MGB).
