Latch, dovetail

When the door closes the latch holds it shut, but there is also the metal cup on the door that fits around the door bushing. Mazda calls this piece a Dovetail Latch. When your door is closed, this connects with the door bushing on the car making yopur door part of the structure of the chassis. A warped Dovetail Latch can cause door troubles, replace yours with thoe OEM Part.
