XJ X350 & X358 (2003-2009)

The X350 & X358 were a full re-design of the X300 & X308 models. Keeping the styling cues of the prior models and the traditional XJ look, it was nonetheless a completely new car. The unibody was constructed of aluminium panels utilizing high tech bonding materials and rivets. This reduced the body weight by as much as 40%. The car was equipped with full adaptive air suspension. Both long and short wheelbase versions were available. The engine options included two V6 engines; a 3.0 litre petrol and a new 2.7 litre twin turbo diesel referred to as the TDVi. The TDVi was jointly developed by Ford and Peugeot and was used widely in the industry. Also available were three V8 engines in 3.5 litre, 4.2 litre and 4.2 litre supercharged. The X350 was facelifted in 2007 and renamed the X358, featuring a revised front grille and bumper assembly, side vents, rear tail lights and rear bumper.
