When the MGF was launched in 1995 it was greeted with huge interest from MG enthusiasts and car lovers all over the world. Even with the closure of the Abingdon factory in 1980, the public still had a soft spot for an MG and this elegantly styled, rear wheel drive, mid-engine roadster won the hearts of a whole new generation upon release. The redesigned and re-engineered TF was unveiled in 2002 and continued sales until 2005 when production was suspended when the MG Rover group collapsed.
