Competition Clutch Lightweight Flywheels - MX-5

Flywheels help keep your engine spinning using momentum, however, from the factory they are generally heavier than they need to be to keep driveability and smoothness, however, if you're modifying your MX-5 a lightweight flywheel is generally considered to be an important item, by removing weight it reduces unnecessary load on the engine and will improve throttle repsone, allowing the engine to rev faster. Mk1-2.5 flywheels are designed to be direct fitment for the 1.8l, however these can be retrofitted to 1.6 l by using a 1.8 clutch at the same time, which is generally considered a worthwhile upgrade when modifying your MX-5.
Mk3 flywheels are designed to fit the 2.0l models fitted with both the 5 or 6 speed geabox.
