Mike found the 1959 MGA in California and had a yearning to rebuild the classic MG having restored one on his TV show Wheeler Dealers. "We did the MGA back in 2015 and after joining the MG Car Club and doing MG Live! I fancied another – this one came up and it looked too good to miss."

Moss Europe have teamed up with Mike and RPS to restore the MGA back to its original condition. Moss will be supplying all of the parts needed for the project whilst RPS will be doing the work.

The full restoration will be documented online in a series of videos and posts so that MG fans and enthusiasts around the world can follow the build using #ProjectMGA.
“Mike’s bought a really solid car, one of the best we’ve ever seen."
“We’re excited to get started on the project.” Said Simon Ayris, managing director of RPS. “Mike’s bought a really solid car, one of the best we’ve ever seen, and it’s got bags of potential. The opportunity to work with the MG Car Club and Moss Europe is a great one.”

With the MGA’s original colour lost to time, the car presents something of a blank-canvas as the project begins. “I’ve got some ideas for the car” says Mike “But ultimately I’ll be guided by what the Club, RPS and Moss think will be best for it – at the end of it all I want is an enjoyable, usable car that represents everything an MG roadster should be.”

What makes this restoration extra special is that it will develop with the input from MG fans who will be able monitor the project’s progress for themselves and offer their own opinions on what the finished car should look like when it is presented at various shows throughout the season. The final reveal of the finished car is planned for MGLive! 2018.
