The thermostat can be removed to aid cooling but it is essential that a blanking sleeve is fitted in its place or the change in water flow may cause local over heating in the cylinder block, and incur great expense!
When used in ‘A' series engines (pre 1975 Midgets) the by-pass hose from the head to the water pump must also be blanked off.
