For maximum breathing efficiency, SU carbs need a radiuses inlet. Unfortunately, the sharp edge of an air filter base plate creates a sharp corner, reducing air flow and potentially robbing your engine of power. Ram pipes with a 180 degree radius like ours have shown air flow improvement of up to 5-7 percent. This Aluminium ram pipe works with both the two inch and the four inch cone filter for the HIF 44 carburettor used in the first generation M45 and second generation MP45 MGA/MGB and Sprite/Midget supercharger kits. Will not fit current kits with HS6 carburettor.
