The MX-5 was conceived as a lightweight two seated roadster with a front engine, rear wheel drive layout. Released in 1989, at the Chicago Auto Show, it has since become the best selling two seat convertible sports car in history. Known in North America as a Miata and Japan as the Roadster the MX-5 is now a firm favourite for road and trackday enthusiasts with plenty of customizable performance and styling upgrades available. The second generation MX-5 (NB) was launched in 1998, whilst the third generation (NC) model was launched in 2005. The current fourth generation (ND) was announced for autumn 2015 and will take Mazda’s little sports car to new heights in the future.
