Class 2 Delivery Driver


Position: Permanent
Salary: T.B.C.
Compensation: Overnight Allowance, Uniform, Staff discount & Stakeholder pension scheme & basic training given

Basic Role Description

Primarily our Class 2 driver is responsible for delivering stock transfers to our branches in Manchester & Bradford. The role also includes collecting larger items from our suppliers. 

Basic Role Responsibilities:

  • To deliver Branch stock orders by way of supplied company vehicle.
  • To be customer care focused.
  • To represent the company to high and exacting standards.
  • Maintain and care for all company supplied vehicles and ancillary equipment.
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects immediately.
  • Adhere to and comply with all aspects of FTA, ADR and DOT licensing rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for the safe loading and unloading of goods.
  • Maintain a high level of Health & Safety.
  • First Aid awareness.

The Candidate:

An experienced Class 2 driver who is a hard working and organized individual with a good grasp of working ethics and solid time keeping. They must also be able to carry out 2 overnight stops per week and should be a committed individual with high levels of productivity. The candidate will also be required to have the following minimum application requirements:

  • Class 2 Licence Holder.
  • ADR Trained & Qualified
  • Fully experienced with digital tachographs.
  • Delivery & Collection experience.
  • Good written and spoken English with good communication skills.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and able to work under pressure.
  • Professionalism when dealing with customers & colleagues.

The Role:

Be an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to work in our Warehouse Goods-In Department to the highest possible standards.

Goods-In Operative Responsibilities:

  • Receiving of all goods from suppliers including carrier networks.
  • Accurate processing of supplier paperwork and stock received.
  • Mindful, timely & accurate location of goods into the warehouse stock system.
  • Maintenance of stock bin locations.

Lead Hand Responsibilities:

  • Full support to the Goods-In supervisor.
  • Cover all supervisory aspects of the Goods-In Supervisor’s role during their absence.
  • Monitor sub departmental health and safety and insure adherence to policy.
  • Man-manage and productively direct staff within the sub department.
  • Liaise with departmental supervisors and senior managers.

Essential & Basic Applicant Requirements:

  • Attention to detail and experienced in producing accurate work levels.
  • Computer proficiency including email usage.
  • A knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • The use of internal operating systems particularly Kerridge.
  • Partial man-management experience.
  • Basic automotive knowledge.
  • High attendance levels and solid work ethic.
  • Physically fit.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced high pressure department.
