Meet the team
Moss Bradford is manned by 100% enthusiasm, “Classics are in our blood” is the best way to describe the team.
Carl Ord has been working in the Classic Car business since 1980 but his interest in Classics and, in particular, his love affair with the MG ‘T’ series began when he was 12 years old. Starting as an apprentice mechanic with Naylor Bros. when he left school, Carl qualified as Motor Vehicle Technician and rose to become works manager. Many restoration projects later, Carl is still proud that his very first job as an apprentice was to work on the 1946 MG TC which featured in the TV series ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ plus a few other famous vehicles along the way.
His knowledge and experience means that Carl has become an acknowledged technical expert on ‘T’ series MGs. He combines this expertise with his role as Branch Manager for Moss Bradford to provide technical assistance to owners and garages worldwide. "One of the things that I like best about my job with Moss is that it gives me the chance to talk to fellow enthusiasts. I have formed many friendships over the years that have started just as a phone call asking for advice."
As you might expect Carl’s personal ‘fleet’ reflects his passion. Having personally restored his own TD from scratch, he is currently working on his MG TF 1500cc. He keeps his 1972 MGB Roadster as the weekend fun car and uses his BMW Mini Cooper D day to day.
Stephen Brown is a Sales Advisor who has owned Classic cars for over 25 years. His first ever car was a Classic Mini which he restored and started showing. From this he went into the concours and judging side of Classics. Since then he has restored and shown to concours standard a 1970 MGB GT, a 1963 MGB Roadster and is in the process of finishing a 1968 MGC Roadster. He also owns a 1972 MGB Roadster and a RWA 1275 Midget. Stephen is very knowledgeable regarding all of the marques which we cover but we can safely say that if your enquiry is regarding MGBs then he really is the person you need to speak to.
Laura Harris is a Sales Advisor, her main area of expertise is the Classic Mini. A blue 998 Mini City was her first car after when she passed her test at 17. She soon swapped this for a beige and maroon City E named 'Bertie'. It has since had many upgrades including a 1275 engine, suspension, brakes and interior. Bertie is now a firmly rooted member of the family. In 2012 'Betty Blue', a Mighty Mini racing car joined the family. Laura has competed in the Mighty Minis Championship with car number 30 since 2013 with sponsorship help from Moss. Her knowledge of these little cars has grown out of necessity…having to fix them herself through lack of money! But now they are a permanent fixture in her life and she wouldn’t be without one. So if it's a Classic Mini problem you need solving, ‘Laura's the person to speak to.’
Alex Cherington is a Sales Advisor who has been working on Classic cars for the past 40 years. Alex learnt to drive and passed his test in a Morris Minor. His area of experience lies mainly in Triumph, including Herald, Vitesse, GT6, Spitfire, Stag & TR6… you get the idea! He currently owns a MkIII Spitfire, a TR6, a Stag and a Triumph engined 1953 Ford Anglia custom car. His TR6 and Stag were purchased in California when he was living out there and he had them shipped over when he returned back to Blighty. Alex does as much work as he can on his cars and his Spitfire is his daily commute.
