Webcon Alpha Engine Management System - Gold
Webcon, the leaders in aftermarket engine management technology, have developed a range bespoke engine management systems for the MGB.

Webcon engineers have combined their knowledge with modern technology to provide engine management systems that bring the MGB's ignition and fuelling management right up to date. The kits have been designed around standard specification engines to give excellent drivability rather than outright maximum power, making them ideally suited to road use. The base map loaded on the ECU is suitable for use on most standard and fast road tuned engines. However, for engines with significant modifications the power output and tractability can be greatly increased through additional mapping, by approved webcon dealers.

Three kits are available:

  • Bronze Kit - ignition management
  • Silver Kit - ignition management with 45 DCOE carbrettion.
  • Gold Kit - full engine management system (EFi)

    Gold Kit - Alpha 3D Static Ignition Management System
    Based on Webcon's PRO4 ECU with their full Alpha management system using an aluminium cross-flow cylinder head to allow easy installation of the multi-throttle bodies, providing individual throttlecontrol to each combustion chamber.

    Using the cross-flow cylinder head also removes the problem of scavenging effects associated with the Siamese inlet ports of the standard cylinder head. The power output is subject to tuning modifications to cylinder head, camshaft and exhaust system. High states of tune will require specific mapping, by approved Webcon dealers. A further advantage of a more efficient management system is that an improvement in fuel economy will almost certainly be noticed. This system is also capable of full closed loop lambda control making it suitable for use with a catalytic converter should the need arise. This is the most advanced turn key engine management solution for MGB models.
